Performance Is More Than Physical
GSP was founded by Giuseppe Palermo—a former NCAA Division I lacrosse player, two-time national champion, three-time All-American, championship head coach and mental-performance coach. His approach combines high-performance standards with the perspective of a coach, mentor and parent. Greatness Sports Performance helps young athletes close the gap between their potential and the way they perform when pressure, mistakes and adversity show up. We teach practical mental skills that athletes can understand, train and use.
The mental-performance track serves athletes, teams, coaches, schools and organizations through self-guided education, workshops and personalized support. The lacrosse track provides purposeful individual and small-group development in the Twin Cities.
Every GSP experience is built around the same objective: help athletes become more confident, focused, resilient, self-aware and prepared to lead—on the field and beyond it.

FOUNDER & MENTAL PERFORMANCE COACH
Giuseppe Palermo brings more than a decade of experience developing athletes, coaches and sports organizations. He is an MPM Certified Coach and the founder of Greatness Sports Performance.
A Minnesota native, Giuseppe competed in lacrosse at NCAA Division I Quinnipiac University before earning his Business Marketing degree at the University of St. Thomas. At St. Thomas, he was a team captain, two-time national champion and three-time All-American, then joined the coaching staff to develop face-off specialists and support the offense.
As head coach at Benilde-St. Margaret’s, Giuseppe led the Red Knights to the 2024 Minnesota state championship and an 18–1 season. He previously served as Senior Director and Midwest Territory Manager for True Lacrosse, helping grow programs across the region and guiding more than 100 student-athletes through the college-placement process.
His coaching philosophy is straightforward: athletes perform best when they understand who they are, know what they control and have trained a response for pressure and adversity. Through GSP, Giuseppe turns those principles into practical systems athletes can use on the field, in school and throughout life.
